The Bridge of Conglass carries the B9008 across the Conglass Water a short distance to the east of Tomintoul. It was originally built in 1794 as part of the Duke of Gordon's new road across his estate from Dufftown to Tomintoul, but was badly damaged by flooding in 1829 and had to be rebuilt. It is understood that the rebuilding used much of the original stonework and the same basic design. Indeed, no mention in the records is made of the design being adapted to prevent future damage by floodwater.
The structure comprises a single stone arch built in a very plain unadorned manner. The underside of the arch has been lined in protective concrete in recent years and half a dozen metal tie rods have been pushed through the structure to hold it together. The roadway is a narrow single lane without pavements between low stone parapets. These parapets then end by curving outwards to small stone piers topped with flat stones and cushion shaped capstones.
