The B9148 is a short link road on Orkney Mainland, passing behind the Highland Park Distillery as it connects the A963 on the southern edge of Kirkwall to the B9053 at Scapa Bay.
The road follows the original route of the A963 itself, which formerly terminated on the B9053 as the B9148 still does. The A963 was rerouted at some time in the 1980s to meet the A961 some 500 metres ESE of the current start of the B1948, at which point the remainder of its old route was reclassified and renumbered as the B9148.
The route itself is uneventful, taking a level course from the edge of the island capital down to the shore. There are bends at either end, but otherwise the road is reasonably straight.
