For the current B9049 to the west of Quoyness, see B9049.
The original B9049 was a short B-road on Hoy in the Orkney Islands, slightly to the east of that number's present route. It started on the B9047 to the east of the bridge over the Whaness Burn and headed north to the coast before turning east through Quoyness. The route ended on the shoreline after about a mile.
The B9049 did not last long. By 1932 it had already been declassified and the number transferred to its current location just to the west. The two ends of the former B9049 have since returned to nature: a new road has been built to serve Quoyness which has bypassed the western end of the ex-B9049, and the buildings at the eastern end are now ruinous so the road is now a farm track - although it is possible it was never anything more.
