The OS Road Map series is a range of maps at 1:250,000 scale, and the modern version of the old Quarter Inch mapping series.
The series came into being in 2001, when the previous Travelmaster was restyled and rebranded across 8 sheets covering the whole of Great Britain. Five revisions were published at two year intervals, with the final revisions being published in 2009.
In 2010, the series was released electronically as OpenData, and branded as 1:250,000 Colour Raster. The electronic annual releases meant that the paper editions were not published again until 2016, with a second set published in 2020.
SABRE Maps coverage
There is a full set of 1:250,000 Colour Raster map revisions available on SABRE Maps, from the original 2010 release through to the present day. SABRE Maps is the largest archive of 1:250,000 OpenData mapping anywhere in the world
